Feeding Program

The gift of a meal is more than just filling an empty stomach. School meals meet basic nutritional needs while keeping children focused in the classroom.

It’s recently been stated by the UN World Food Programme that 4.9 million Haitians are currently facing food insecurity. We truly believe every meal matters and makes a difference in preventing malnutrition. While the focus of the feeding program at Danita’s Children is providing nutritious meals to children in school, we also provide meals to patients and families at our hospital. Our feeding program provides 16,000 meals/month on average to some of Haiti’s most vulnerable children who live both on and off campus.

The dedicated kitchen staff, along with our older children who live in our Homes, are working hard to continue feeding everyone on campus.

For many of the students in our school, the only meal they eat each day is the one they receive at school.

This year we experienced obstacles due to the instability of Haiti and the impact it has on the food and supply chain. Thankfully, your donations made it possible to purchase 3 months’ worth of emergency food supplies!
