FAQs: Frequently Asked Questions
about Giving to Danita's Children
Dear Friend,
Thank you for supporting Danita's Children/Hope for Haiti Children's Center. As part of our supporter family, you help to rescue, love, feed and care for orphaned and impoverished children in Haiti; most importantly, you act as the hands and feet of our loving God to a lost and hurting child.
Because of your continued financial support children will receive an education, clothing, medical care, food and a safe place to live. With your support, we can now respond quickly and effectively to meet many of our goals such as building the new medical center and providing for your child's vaccinations. Thank you for your timely gift!
The FAQ's below will hopefully answer some of your questions regarding giving. However, please feel free at any time to contact our U.S. offices (usoffice@danitaschildren.org) if you have more questions.
God bless you,
Sheree Beresford

- Q. Can I donate goods or specific items to Danita's Children?

- Q. How do corporate matching gifts work?
-
A. Thousands of companies will match donations to approved not-for-profits and schools, dollar-for-dollar as a benefit to their employees and their communities. To find out if your company has a matching gift policy, please ask at your place of business.
You should also visit your human resources office or website to inquire about matching gift guidelines. Usually you just fill out your company’s brief matching gift form and send it in with your gift. We’ll take care of the rest. Danita's Children gets more support, and your company gets a receipt and recognition. You will be acknowledged and notified of your gift.
- Q. Is Danita's Children a registered charity? If so, what is its Federal Tax Identification Number?
-
A. Danita's Children is a registered 501(c)3 organization in the United States. To find out more, Contact Us .
- Q. What is an 'unrestricted' gift or donation?
-
A. Unrestricted donations aren’t earmarked and so provide Danita and her team with the flexibility to take care of unforeseen needs as well as to address critical projects and opportunities. Unrestricted support can be directed to whatever is the greatest need at any given time.
- Q. What are the benefits for me personally?
-
A. While your gift is tax deductible, there’s no greater benefit than the knowledge that your gift made a difference in the life of an orphaned or impoverished child, allowing your donation to shape future leaders who will in turn touch the lives of others. And gifts of all levels are combined to make important improvements in the lives of children in which our donors can take pride.
- Q. To whom do I make my check payable?
-
A. Your check should be made out to Danita's Children. If you should like to send your donation in a check, please send it to:
