Future Projects
Even before one project becomes a reality, we're considering the next. We believe in the mission and vision that God has set before us. There are several projects up ahead. Visit this page often to see what's next for Danita's Children and the Hope for Haiti Children's Center!
Trade/Vocation School
In following the concept of ‘feed a
man a fish or teach him HOW to fish’, we want our children to learn to
be self–sufficient not dependent on United States or another
organization to care for themselves or their families as they grow
older and age out of our orphanage. Our hope and desire is to provide a
trade and vocational school to run concurrently or as a secondary
school for our students and community. Plans to start this project are set for 2009 and 2010.
Evening Bible School
The Evening Bible School would be a seminary in the native language to teach Bible, pastoral training and support. This project is in the concept and analysis phase, but the initial thought is to possibly link up with accredited seminary in the US or with one in Haiti. Plans to start this project are set for 2009.
Leadership Academy
The Leadership Academy concept has been born from the observed need that our school students have need of additional and focused training in the areas of leadership, character and integrity development. The Leadership Academy would be a specialty track that will run concurrent with their primary education and would be provided to students who attain the privilege to attend based upon the children attendance record, grades and commitment by them and their family to their education. Students would be trained for the purpose of leadership and the education would provide them with skills and a focus after they leave our school. A special curriculum will be sought to provide this specialty training. Plans to start this project are set for 2009.
Community Re-development Efforts
The heart of Danita's Children is to bring hope and healing to the orphaned and impoverished child. Bringing health to the community socially, spiritually, educationally and economically is one way to address the orphan crisis. We choose to partner with and support efforts that do just that. Future efforts would include finding creative methods of agriculture and farming, introducing new industry, micro-financing and micro-loans, increased educational opportunities. At the core of all of this is our desire to bring the hope and love and good news of Jesus to the people of Haiti. Planning and participating in community re-development efforts is ongoing.
