Junette has been with us since February of 2006. Before coming to live at Danita's Children/Hope for Haiti Children's Center, we had known Junette's mother for many years. Sadly, in 2005, she was diagnosed with AIDS, and quickly fell ill.

One morning, Junette's mother woke up and barely had the strength to get out of bed, but managed to get on a taxi and ride to the orphanage. When she arrived, she told the staff that God had spoken to her in a dream the night before and told her that He was going to take her soon to be with Him. In the dream, He instructed her to “talk with the missionaries; they will help you.”

It was clear that she felt confident that we would take good care of Junette. She immediately signed the official paperwork from a judge granting Danita legal guardianship over her daughter. Two days later, she passed away.

Junette misses her mother and remembers her with tears in her eyes, but the Lord has been faithful to comfort her. She has found love and hope and a new family in Danita's Children.
