Medical Projects

There is a crisis in Haiti when it comes to adequate medical care for children. Local clinics are unable to provide adequate medical care in this poorest country in the western hemisphere.

The loss of Rose Carline to tuberculosis, the near-fatal illness of Robenson, and several other serious medical needs with our children have increased our determination and resolve to quickly provide a place of hope for children with medical needs.

Though a monumental task in this country, we are striving to provide the facilities and staff to provide dental and medical care from the simplest prescription to life-saving surgeries. Our plan has developed into a three-phase construction process in order to serve the children as quickly as possible.

Dental_clinicPhase One: Dental Clinic...Completed!

The dental clinic was constructed and completed in 2010. This multi-purpose clinic serves as not only a place in which to perform the dental procedures needed among the children of our community but also  a temporary medical clinic. We can now render medical  services to treat what most might consider minor medical cmed_scrubsomplications, but can become life-threatening in Haiti if left untreated.

When medical teams arrive to help us, this also provides us with a base station for their exams and procedures. We are so thankful to have this facility!

Phase Two: Medical Center
...Under Construction

The Children’s Medical Center is currently under construction and will be a three-story 17,000-square-foot facility that will provide for basic outpatient and medical assistance in a clinical setting. It will be much smaller in scale than the planned hospital but will quickly fill the gap and be a place where medical teams can work and provide care and health education to the community. It will provide medical, dental care and a pharmacy for the children, and will also provide housing for our doctors, medical teams, missionaries and visitors.

See the progress in the construction photos.

Phase Three: Future Children’s Hospital

Once the Medical Center is complete and operational, we will turn our full attention to the construction of the Children’s Hospital. This facility will be a state-of-the-art, 31,000-square-foot in-patient hospital with full-scale medical care for children. It will include many beds for in-patient care, an eye-care diagnostic and treatment area, full-scale surgical center, pharmacy, full dental care, diagnostics and imaging, emergency room and health education areas.

Completion of the hospital will allow us to treat and save the lives of thousands of children from our region and throughout Haiti, meeting the vast health-care needs of the Haitian people.
