As we commemorate the 10th Anniversary of Danita's Children this year,
we are honored to have several events hosted by our faithful supporters.

On Saturday, April 18th, from 6-10pm, one such event will take place in Nashville, Tennessee.
"The Artistry of Hope" is an art and music benefit hosted by Andrew Atteberry and Sera Davis, two Nashville artists and supporters of Danita's Children. The event began when Atteberry approached the stateside office with his interest in hosting a one-night gallery show of artwork by several artists, with proceeds benefiting Danita's Children. With Atteberry's expertise and the addition of Ms. Sera Davis, the owner of a popular gallery, the event began to take shape. Soon it grew into a full-scale benefit, complete with popular Nashville musicians and plenty of donated time, beautiful artwork and photographs.

photo_child"The Artistry of Hope" will be tri-fold in purpose:

1 - To celebrate the 10th Anniverary
of Danita's Children.

2 - To raise awareness
about the global orphan crisis,
what Danita's Children is doing
to respond to that need, and
why you are the hope for Haiti.

3 - To raise funds for our much-needed
Children's Hospital of Hope and other
important projects taking place in Haiti.

"This event is a tremendous opportunity for the Nashville arts community to use our talent in support of one of the world's poorest countries and some of its neediest, most vulnerable children," Atteberry said. "We hope the show gets a great response, and that we can begin staging events like this every year." Atteberry noted that it is a great honor and privilege to support the work at Danita's Children, and his hope is that others will follow suit with similar events in the future."Since I first got involved with Danita's Children, I have wanted to use my art to benefit the kids. I'm happy to be able to do that now."

Meet founder and missionary Danita Estrella
and long-term missionary Brenda Sapp at the event.

Another highlight of the event will be the appearance of one of our children, Margarette. She came to live at the orphanage three years ago, and was brought to Nashville in February to undergo cornea transplant surgery. Since her successful surgery performed by Dr. Ming Wang, prominent Nashville surgeon, she has been living with Dr. David and Melody Snodgrass in Nashville.

Read Margarette's story.
