Our 10th Anniversary Celebration has begun!
Here
at Danita's Children, we are very excited to be celebrating our 10th
Anniversary! In commemoration of this milestone, we will be hosting
several events throughout the 2009 year. Many of these events will be
supporter-driven, meaning they are planned and coordinated by
supporters of Danita's Children, but are supervised and overseen by
Danita's Children staff. We are very excited about our volunteers
involving themselves in our Anniversary celebration in this way!
Please see the pages below for updates on recent events!
If you are interested in hosting an event, please contact us at usoffice@danitaschildren.org. We would love to hear your ideas! Thank you for celebrating with us, and for your continued prayers and support that have carried us and allowed us to minister to the children for the past 10 years. You have made a great difference!

2009 marks the 10-year anniversary of Danita’s arrival to Haiti. Starting with nothing more than a few suitcases and a big heart for the orphaned child, she gathered fourteen children into a rented home, trusting that God would provide all that she needed.
Since that small beginning ten years ago, God has not only provided, but has given to her above and beyond what she could have ever imagined. From the small rented home to now—three orphan homes, a school, a church, a feeding program and soon, a children’s medical clinic—many children’s lives have been changed for eternity and a bright future is now possible for them because of the faithfulness of God and the generosity of our faithful supporters.
Many of you have inquired as to how you can help Danita
celebrate her 10-year anniversary.
Please
join us in prayer as Danita seeks God’s guidance for the future of
Danita’s Children, and pray for her peace and encouragement during this
time.
If you would like to send Danita a special note, card or letter, you can email it to usoffice@danitaschildren.org, or mail it to PO Box 864311, Orlando, FL 32886. We will compile all of your emails, cards and letters into a book for Danita that she will be able to read and enjoy.
If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact Roxi in the stateside offices, roxi@danitaschildren.org, or call 407-805-9532.

:: Event One: "Where Do You See Hope?"
:: April 2nd
:: Santiago, Dominican Republic

On April 2nd, a donor-sponsored event, entitled "Where Do You See Hope?" took place in Santiago and was hosted by Danita's Children supporter and dedicated volunteer Carolina Diplan and her family, who live in Santiago.
Carolina moved to the Orlando area in 2005 to attend college, and has been volunteering with Danita's Children throughout 2008 and 2009. Also in connection with the event, Carolina and her family arranged for several Santiago photographers to visit the orphanage and asked the children to take photos (with assistance) of the places where they see hope. Several of the children's photos, as well as those of the photographers, were featured at the event. Also, Carolina and a Danita's Children representative from the stateside office spoke at an American high school called Santiago Christian School, where Carolina attended.
Thank
you to Carolina and the Diplan family for hosting this wonderfully,
successful event and bringing greater awareness and hope to needs of
the children in Haiti.
:: Event Two: The Artistry of Hope
:: April 18th, 2009
:: Nashville, TN
On Saturday, April 18th, from 6-10pm, a special event will take place in Nashville, Tennessee. "The Artistry of Hope" is an art and music benefit hosted by Andrew Atteberry and Sera Davis, two Nashville artists and supporters of Danita's Children. The event began when Atteberry approached the stateside office with his interest in hosting a one-night gallery show of artwork by several artists, with proceeds benefiting Danita's Children. With Atteberry's expertise and the addition of Ms. Sera Davis, the owner of a popular gallery, the event began to take shape. Soon it grew into a full-scale benefit, complete with popular Nashville musicians and plenty of donated time, beautiful artwork and photographs.
